Amazon Prime members are gearing up for the big Prime Day deal-fest, and now there’s one more way to save: Shop at Whole Foods!
The natural-foods giant, which is owned by Amazon, offers a $10 credit to your Amazon account when you spend at least $10 on groceries. You can snag the credit by ordering a Whole Foods delivery through Prime Now, as well.
There’s plenty of time to take advantage. Any $10-plus purchase made now through July 16 counts. Nice!
Naturally, there’s a good amount of fine print. First, the $10 credit is a one-time-only, one-per-customer deal. You can’t, for example, spend $50 at Whole Foods and get a $50 credit — you’ll just get $10 back for that one shopping trip.
It matters which items you buy, too. The $10 credit can’t be issued for alcohol, stamps or gift-card purchases. Sales tax doesn’t count toward your $10, either. Spend another ten bucks on other grocery items, though, and you’re in the clear.
Oh, and this part is really important: That $10 Amazon credit is only good from midnight on July 15 to 11:59 p.m. PT on July 17. In other words, it only works during Prime Day(s) and then it’s gone. Note that this range is in Pacific time, so don’t jump the gun if you’re in another time zone.
Finally, the $10 credit is only available to Prime members, so sign up for the service if you want to take advantage. Members scan their Prime Code at checkout, or provide the phone number that’s linked to their Prime membership, and voilà — $10 gets zapped into your Amazon account. For this, you’ll need the free Amazon Prime app installed on your phone.
It’s a lot of hoops to jump through, but not too shabby, right? It’s like getting $10 to spend on your Prime Day bargain-hunting quest. And you’ve got to get groceries between now and July 15, I bet. It’s a win all around.
Not sold yet? Well, check this out: Whole Foods will also be offering discounts of 25-50 percent off selected items in the store, including organic cherries, salmon, baby back ribs, apple pies, and sparkling water. Amazon Prime members can get an addtiional 10% off hundreds of items as well. And if you get your order through Prime Now, 2-hour delivery service is free and new customers get $15 off a $35 order.
