Is Jennifer Garner really giving Bradley Cooper cooking lessons? That’s the bizarre claim in one of this week’s tabloids. Gossip Cop has the truth.
According to In Touch, the actor recently decided he wants to learn how to cook, so he turned to his former “Alias” co-star for help. A supposed source tells the magazine, “They’ve spent hours making Italian food, like fresh pasta and sauce, meatballs and pizza from scratch.”
The outlet’s so-called “insider” goes on to say that Garner “has always been passionate about food, so she’s perfect to learn from. Cooking comes naturally to her — she could certainly give Martha Stewart a run for her money.” The seemingly phony tipster adds, “Bradley is in good hands.”
This whole scenario is very random, and it’s also completely made-up. Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, who tells us that Garner simply hasn’t been giving Cooper cooking lessons. The former co-stars have remained good friends since shooting “Alias,” but they’re not cooking buddies.
In fact, it doesn’t seem the actor needs lessons in the kitchen. Cooper was trained by a multiple Michelin star chefs for his role in the 2015 movie Burnt, in which he plays the renowned top chef of a London restaurant. Director John wells said in an interview at the time of the film’s release, “All the actors had to spend the time to get fluent in the craft.”
British chef Marcus Wareing, who helped train the actor for the film, said in an interview that Cooper mastered a lamb dish that took him 20 years to perfect. The Michelin-starred chef added, “I’d hire him.” Meanwhile, Cooper explained in a 2015 People magazine interview, “There’s no cooking double for [my character]. Everything in the movie I’m actually doing. The stakes were high. Every day I felt the pressure of having to deliver.” The actor further noted, “I cook every day. I’m one of those guys that [uses] whatever’s in the refrigerator. I just started a little garden, which is like heaven.” Simply put, the actor already knows his way around the kitchen.
Unfortunately, we’re not surprised by the magazine’s bogus story. In Touch is the same tabloid that Gossip Cop busted in October for falsely claiming that Cooper and Irina Shayk were headed for a split over his friendship with A Star is Born co-star Lady Gaga. This latest article may be more lighthearted than those breakup rumors, but it’s no more accurate.
