Even though you may be certain about someone when believe you’re ready to marry them, and you believe you know everything about this person, it may not always be the case.
Reddit user Lavrene recently discovered this when she had a discussion about forcing intercourse while married with her fiance.
She has since taken it to the forum, and she shared that her husband-to-be claimed that marital forced intercourse laws were b-s and that one of the duties of being a “good wife” is being intimate with your husband.
Many individuals still hold this common misconception as a result of not having adequate education about consent, but it can be pretty scary to learn that your future husband holds this opinion.
This is what user Lavrene shared on the Relationship Advice subreddit:
His opinions were, undoubetly, very wrong.
Therefore, many people advised the OP to bring up the conversation again, and tell him that it’s been on her mind. They advised her to ask him what he would do if she refused to be intimate with him, and to ask him if he believes consent is important.
They also advised her to tell him how wrong he is and if he sees what’s the problem with his opinion.
Lavrene’s post has since been deleted from Reddit, and she hasn’t responded to the comments.
