Carissa Pinkston is a model that has been known for being a “trailblazer for the freckle movement”.
However, now she’s trending for a different reason: lying about being transgender just to cover up trans-hating remarks she has made on social media.
Pinkston has modeled for clients such as Savage X Fenty, Prabal Gurung, and Marc Jacobs, and she made the comments on Facebook using a fake name “Rissa”.

To make things worse, she even emphasized her point in another post:
However, instead of apologizing to the millions of people she offended, she decided that she would try to save her reputation and career by lying about being transgender.
Fellow models and friends immediately shared their skepticism about her being a transgender person, and they suggested that Pinkston was lying about being transgender in order to avoid further repercussions.
This is what Trans model Aaron Philip posted on Twitter about the situation:
As it turns out, Pinkston was indeed lying about being transgender.
She finally decided to come clean and officially apologize for lying and for her comments.
She wrote that she apologizes for the remarks she’s made towards the Trans community, and she noted that she panicked and thought that if she came out as Trans she could somehow make things better for herself. However, she added that it appears that she’s only made things worse, and that she’s truly sorry.
